Insurance review checklist: look beyond the premium.
A lower premium does not explain what a policy covers. Check the wording, exclusions and limits, then record the questions your insurer needs to answer.
INSURANCE GUIDANCE
Review the cover you already hold and the questions to ask before renewal. Organise policy documents, protection priorities and points that need an insurer’s explanation.
Discuss your priorities
Insurance decisions are easier to discuss when you know what a financial interruption would mean for your household or business. The starting point is your responsibilities, not a product brochure.
Organise the income your household relies on, major commitments and the risks your business could struggle to absorb. Keep personal and business risks distinct so that each conversation has a clear purpose.
Build an inventory of existing policies, renewal dates and the people or assets they cover. Read the actual wording, including exclusions, conditions, waiting periods and limits. Where a provision is unclear, ask the insurer or authorised intermediary for a written explanation.
We can help organise a needs discussion and the questions you want to take to an authorised insurance professional. That may include changes in dependants, employment, borrowing or business operations that make an existing arrangement worth reviewing.
This page describes general needs education and administrative preparation. It does not represent Accureon Advisors as an IRDAI-registered intermediary. Insurance solicitation, product-specific advice and placement must be handled by a provider with the required authorisation, confirmed before engagement.
Read what to check beyond the premium, and consult IRDAI's policyholder resources for official consumer information.
